Pipe size chart, schedule chart and theoretical weight chart for MS, carbon steel, stainless steel and GI pipes — IS 1239, IS 3589, ASME B36.10M / B36.19M with ASTM A106, A53, A312 and API 5L — plus pipe weight, volume and surface area calculators.
About this calculator
At VERCHO Engineering Solutions, our objective is not limited to supplying electrical and mechanical products. We also aim to provide practical engineering resources that can be useful to engineers, consultants, contractors, estimators, purchase teams and site engineers.
Almost every piping enquiry starts with the same questions: what is the outside diameter of this size, what wall does this schedule or class give, and how much does the pipe weigh per metre or per 6 m length? The answers are spread across several standards — ASME B36.10M for carbon steel, ASME B36.19M for stainless steel, IS 1239 for MS and GI tubes and IS 3589 for large-diameter pipe — and nominal sizes are written three different ways as NPS, DN and NB.
Our Pipe Size & Weight Chart brings them together in one place, with the theoretical weight calculated for every size and schedule.
VERCHO supplies MS & SS pipes, pipe fittings, flanges and fasteners for water, fire-fighting, utility and process piping. Pipes are specified by size and schedule, bought and transported by weight, and matched to fittings and flanges by outside diameter — so getting the size, wall and weight right is where every order begins.
The same data helps when a project mixes Indian and international standards. IS 1239 and ASME pipes share most outside diameters, but not all — 65 NB, 125 NB and 150 NB differ — and ordering fittings to the wrong OD series is a common and costly mistake.
VERCHO is not only a supplier of industrial products; we aim to support engineers and project teams with practical engineering resources. This chart sits alongside our pipe fittings & flanges chart, pipe size calculator and weight calculator.
Weights are theoretical, calculated from nominal dimensions and density. Actual pipe weight varies within the tolerances of the standard. This chart is intended as a preliminary engineering reference and should not be considered a substitute for the current edition of the standard, mill certificates, manufacturer data or project-specific engineering.
At VERCHO, we believe that product knowledge and engineering understanding should go together. We aim to continue developing useful technical resources alongside our growing range of electrical and mechanical products.
VERCHO — BUILT BEYOND.
